Is the time between death and reincarnation shorter after the death of a child than for an adult?

It’s typically a shorter amount of time when after the death of a child, it’s spirit reincarnates. We might consider that the spirit of a child has not done much in it’s past life that it needs a great time to plan out it’s next reincarnation. It may have lived it’s last life as a sickly baby so as to teach compassion to a spirit that was in need of that lesson in which case it’s mission was accomplished. Or it’s time in flesh was cut short by something out it’s control and need to pick up where it left off.
