Dictionary

There are some words that you may not hear often which are used within Spiritist groups. Below are a list of words to help you get the most out of what you read.

Affinity – a natural liking for or attraction to a person

Atonement – reparation for a wrong or injury

Corporeal – relating to a person’s body, especially as opposed to their spirit

Disincarnate or Discarnate – (of a person or being) not having a physical body.

Expiation – the act of making amends or reparation for guilt or wrongdoing; atonement.

Immutable – unchanging over time or unable to be changed. (adj)

Incarnate – embodied in flesh; in human form (adj)

Moral – concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character. (adj)

Obsessor – to dominate or preoccupy the thoughts, feelings, or desires of (a person); beset, trouble, or haunt persistently or abnormally

Perispirit – A layer of an abstract, ethereal material that serves as the bond between one’s spirit and physical body. (noun)

Postulates –

Pyschography – Psychography is a kind of automatic writing in which the spirit dictates the words to the medium or takes over the medium’s body in order to write a message or in some cases entire books.

Reincarnation – the rebirth of a soul in a new body. (noun)

Sovereignly – possessing supreme or ultimate power.
